Daily Dose of Poetry
The light's gone out
the house is dark
and everyone passes by
This darkened home
is hard to see under
the cold relentless sky
In times gone by
it's been lit up
with colors on display
Now it sits and
waits till morning comes
and brings with it the day
But with each day
it never heals the
pain that lingers still
And night intensifies
the aches with it's
cold and haunting chill
As time goes by
the shingles fall
and crash upon the ground
The shudders break
the walls all crack
but no one hears a sound
The hollow halls
begin to moan
in harmony with wind
Fantasizing of the days
when flashy parties
shined within
Now cold, alone
this house will never
see the life it
once had known
